Today, Aula Italy was inaugurated at ULIM. His Excellency, Enrico Nunziata, the ambassador of Italy at Chisinau, Mrs. Ana Gutu, the first vice-rector and Mr. Igor Munteanu, vice-rector for International Cooperation and academic partnership participated in the official ceremony.

Mrs. Ana Guru thanked Mr. Ambassador Enrico Nunziata first for the fact that his country supports the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova’s citizens, by ratifying the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and European Union.

Aula Italy means a strengthening of ULIM relations with the biggest Italian university centers. This fact will highlight, once again, our belongingness to the family of Latin people. Italy is known for the oldest universities, firstly, for the famous University of Bologna, which launched Magna Charta Universitatum – a document that represents the true Constitution of the worldwide universities. ULIM is its only signatory university from the Republic of Moldova.

Ambassador Enrico Nunziata emphasized the importance of Aula Italy under the conditions of excellent bilateral, political-diplomatic, economic, scientific and cultural relations between the Republic of Moldova and Italy. In the context of future Memorandum of Understanding between the Embassy of Italy and ULIM, the inauguration of Aula is an important event and the diplomatic mission will contribute essentially to provide didactic material and to improve the process of studying the Italian language and culture at ULIM.

The vice-rector Igor Munteanu invoked the tradition of ULIM to inaugurate aulas of countries friends together with diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Moldova. Here, there will be organized not only lectures, but also important events for the Republic of Moldova, representing the spirituality and the tradition of people.
