In 2009 ULIM has adopted a policy of dedicating lecture rooms to foreign countries which are then facilitated and opened in partnership with the diplomatic representations of these countries. The goal is to familiarize our students and guests with the world’s diversity and promote a cosmopolitan vision. The concept of such a project is that through permanent international gallery of such rooms, students and visitors become acquainted with the respective country’s culture, traditions, language. The Embassy can use the room for promoting its country through various activities (i.e. celebration of national holidays). Each room is promoted as a window through which further projects related to the respective country are developed. After the decoration of the room, we normally organize an opening ceremony with the participation of the ambassador; in some cases also the respective prime-minister or minister of foreign affairs inaugurated their rooms (i.e. Austria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Romania).
ULIM’s ‘international gallery’ is highly appreciated both by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, diplomatic missions, civic society and students, who themselves actively participate in initialing joint activities through these rooms.
Until now there are already more than 30 such rooms: of USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Turkey and others.
Please don’t hesitate to have a look at our current international gallery.
