On May 17th 2013 the head of the European Union Delegation at Chişinău, the Ambassador Dirk Schuebel visited ULIM.

His Excellency had a speech in the Conference Room, where participated the rector of ULIM, Andrei Galben, the prime- vice rector for international relations, Mr. Nicolae Ţâu and Vitalie Budeci, the Director of the Center for International Cooperation. The main subject of the discussions was the development of the moldo – european and east countries cooperation relations with which ULIM signed various collaboration agreements.

The inauguration event was assisted by the head of the European Union Delegation at Chişinău, His Excellency, the Ambassador Dirk Schuebel, the rector of ULIM, Andrei Galben, and a hundred of students. The European Union Information Center has been released today, may 17th at the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM). The activity goal of this Center, opened in different regions of the Republic of Moldova, is to give our citizens the free access to the information about the European Union as well as to the official publications.

The European Union Information Center is open to young people, students, specialists from different fields and businessmen. Since 2007, in the Republic of Moldova there were inaugurated eight European Union Information Centers: in Bălţi, Cahul, Comrat, Soroca and Ungheni. In Chişinău there are four such Centers. The Moldovan citizens can find here specialized information and literature in different fields, EU programs and instruments dedicated to countries which are part of the Neighborhood European Policy, the Republic of Moldova, the EU legislation, business rules and culture information.

The EU Information Center from the Republic of Moldova receives free specialized materials and literature from the EU Publications Office, with the headquarter in Luxembourg. In this way, there was signed a cooperation agreement with each host education institution. The EU was to deliver for free and permanently materials requested by the Information Centers co-coordinators.

Those who search information about the European Union, can go to the following institutions: the lyceum „Constantin Stere” (Soroca), the Economic Studies Academy of Moldova, the State University of Moldova, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Moldova, the Free International University of Moldova (Chişinău), the State University ,,Alecu Russo’’ (Bălţi), the State University ,,Bogdan Petriceicu Haşdeu” (Cahul), the State University from Comrat (Comrat) and the lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri” (Ungheni).
