The new Erasmus+ Programme aims to support actions in the field of Education, Training, Youth and Sport for the period 2014-2020.
Erasmus + provides grants for a wide range of actions and activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. The programme gives opportunities to students, trainees, staff and volunteers to spend a period abroad to increase their skills and employability. It supports organisations to work in transnational partnership and to share innovative practices in the fields of education, training and youth. The new Sport action will support grassroots projects and cross-border challenges such as combating match-fixing, doping, violence and racism.
For Students
Short-term Mobility (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate)
How does it work? Based on the partnerships between Moldovan and European universities. The list with effective agreements can be found at the International Relations Departments of the Higher Educations Institutions (HEIs) were the student is registred. It is a must for the Mobility period to be integrated into student’s study program. Academic activities taken abroad will be recognized and fully equivalated. It is mandatory for the student to come back to Moldova, graduate and get the diploma in his country.
How to apply? Each inter-institutional agreement is different. The procedure, the list of necessary documents and the deadline are available at the International Relations Department. The application is on-line.
Who can benefit? Students registred in Moldovan HEIs, regardless of study cycle: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate.
How long? The overseas exprience can last from 3 up to 12 months (24 months for students from Medicine). The same student can benefit of multiple mobility sessions during one study cycle, as long as they don’t exceed 12 months.
What is the grant amount? Between 750 and 850 Euros, depending on the cost of living and the host country, plus a unique contribution for transportation, that is calculated based on the distance between the leaving institution and the one from the final destination.
Long term Mobility (Master, Doctorate)
- Joint Master Degrees
How does it work? Operated by consortiums of Higher Education Institutions from European Union and other countries of the world. The Programme offers integrated, high quality studies, with 60, 90 or 120 credits and joint or multiple diplomas (according to the rules of the program, established by the consortium).
How to apply? For higher chances of being accepted, students are encouraged to apply simultaneous for maximum three different Masters Programs, out of those available. Access directly the website of the Master course you are interested in. All applications will be submitted online, on the program’s website.
Who can benefit? Young people from all around the world, holders of a Bachelor degree, are eligible. As an exception, the consortium of the Master program can accept the dossier of the students that are in the process of Bachelor graduation.
How long does it last? Courses may vary between 12 and 24 months.
What is the grant amount? The scholarship covers the classes fee, transportation and instalation, maintainance costs and medical insurance. The sum can reach €25 000 per year.
- Joint Doctoral Degrees
How does it work? Operated by consortiums of Higher Education Institutions from European Union and other countries of the world. The Programme offers integrated, high quality studies and joint or multiple diplomas (according to the rules of the program, established by the consortium).
How to apply? Access directly the website of the Master course you are interested in. All applications will be submitted online, on the program’s website.
Who can benefit? Holders of a Master degree.
How long does it last? Courses take up to 36 months.
What is the grant amount? The scholarship covers the classes fee, transportation and instalation, maintainance costs and medical insurance. The sum may vary between €60.000 and €130.000 for all the three years of Doctoral studies.
For Staff
Mobility
Teaching activities. This activity allows staff from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to teach at a partner HEI from abroad. Staff’s mobility with the purpose of teaching can happen in any academic discipline. Each agreement has to specify the type of mobility, the period and the domain.
Training activities. This activity supports the professional development of academic and non-academic staff from higher education institutions as training events taking place outside the resident country (except conferences) and as direct observation periods at the working/training place in a partner HEI or in other relevant organization from abroad.
A study period can combine teaching and training activities.
The mobility that university staff can benefit from is supposed to have the following results:
- improving competences that regards professional profile (teaching, training, working with young people)
- deeper understanding of practices, politics and education systems
- improving capacity to trigger changes in the modernization and international openness in the institutions they represent
- a better understanding of interconnectation between academic education and the labor market
- improving the quality of work and activities for the benefit of students
- adaptability to social, linguistic and cultural diversity
- increasing the support and promotion of mobility for students
- increasing opportunities for professional development and career
- improving foreign language skills.
Joint Master Degree
This action allows teachers that are invited by a foreign Higher Education Institution to teach, to participate in training or reseach activities. In total, they will be involved in at least 8 weeks of teaching. Lecturers will be selected based on the consortium criteria and considering the added value brought to the Master Program.
