Mr. Titus CORLĂŢEAN, Foreign Minister of Romania was with an official visit on Tuesday, November 19, to ULIM. He delivered a public lecture entitled: “European Integration of the Republic of Moldova – an irreversible process”.The event launched with the inauguration ceremony of the Aula Romania (room 245, second floor, block III) within ULIM. Romania completed the list of countries that have a fruitful collaboration with ULIM and opened special rooms dedicated to the academic community of ULIM and making them familiar with its national culture and customs.

After the traditional ribbon cutting, Mr. Minister presented a public lecture entitled «European integration of the Republic of Moldova-an irreversible process». The Romanian diplomat stated that in Vilnius, in the framework of the Third Summit of Eastern Partnership will take place a historic moment for Moldova. This is the result of people’s desire to join the EU, expressed repeatedly by demonstrations and meetings.

Moldova is considered the most important partner state of Europe, which has been highly developed in order to promote democratic values, and has conducted significant reforms to improve the functioning mechanism of state power. This is highly appreciated by the EU authorities, said the Romanian Foreign Minister. The recent European reports, show that Moldova fulfills all requirements to initiate the European Union Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement in Vilnius. Romanian official also stated a few important factors for Moldova to join the European family: political stability in the country is primary and educating the young generation in a European spirit is equally important.

Aula Romania is the 33rd hall inaugurated at ULIM. It completed the international gallery of states around the world that have opened special rooms at ULIM.
